The number of unemployed registered in the employment centers of the continent and regions is 598,083 people in late November, representing a decrease of 13.6% – less 93,936 people – over the same period, according to official data from the Institute for Employment and Vocational Training (IEFP).
In terms of age groups, the total unemployed there was a more representative annual decline in young people (-17.8%) than in adults (12.9%).
At the regional level, unemployment decreased in all regions of the country, but the most significant decrease was seen in the Algarve (17%), followed by the Alentejo (-14.4%) and the Centre (-14%).
