Industrial production in Portugal recorded the biggest drop of the eurozone – Jornal de Negócios – Portugal

The Eurostat data show that industrial production in Portugal fell 2.1% in June compared with the previous month. This was the biggest monthly decline among the eurozone countries and the second largest in the EU, second only to Croatia.

Industrial production in Portugal fell 2.1% in June compared with May, revealed this Wednesday, August 12th, the European statistical office (Eurostat ).

This fall was the highest among the Member States of the euro area and the second largest in the European Union, which Croatia has seen its industrial output dropped 2.9%.

In annual terms, ie compared with June 2014, industrial production in Portugal rose 2%, a slowdown due to the annual increase of 3.6% registered in May.

In this case, especially Ireland, where industrial production rose 27.6%. This is the third largest annual increase in Irish industrial production this year: in March rose 28.9% and in February 40.2%.

Across the eurozone, industrial production recorded a monthly rise of 0.4% and 1.2% annual. In the European Union, the monthly rise was 0.2% and the annual was 1.7%.
