ECB has doubts and asks alternative plan “urgent” to CGD – TVI24

The European Central Bank has many questions about the new administration of the Caixa Geral de Depósitos and, moreover, asks for a plan “urgent” and alternative to the capitalization process it is initiated by the Government. The information was released on Sunday night by former PSD leader Marques Mendes, the SIC.

The ECB thus advocates a alternative to public capitalization , or an alternative the injection of state capital and, in this way, taxpayers in CGD. Marques Mendes cited even said letter, sent to the administration of the Portuguese public bank.

“Given the significant uncertainty makes the bank recapitalization State CGD urgently needs to develop and submit to the ECB an alternative plan to boost its advocation of capital in the event that the recapitalization by the State ultimately prove impractical “

the Board of Public Finance warned last week that the recapitalization of the case is precisely one of the “significant risks” to meet the deficit targets.

Then, the ECB also poses serious questions about the names chosen to lead the case. The commentator revealed that the regulator expressed doubts about the excessive number of planned management in a total of 19 , and supports a maximum of 15.

The institution led by Mario Draghi considers in the letter that the chairman positions and executive chairman should be held by different people. And recommends that all administrators have experience in banking.
