Sales in retail trade accelerated 4.3% in June – Observer

The turnover in retail trade rose 4.3% in June, compared to the same period last year, an acceleration of 2.9 percentage points compared to May, reports Friday the National Statistics Institute (INE) .

This behavior was determined by both groups, with greater intensity by the food, which has an annual rate of 0.9% in May to 5.6% in June.

the index of non-food group recorded an annual increase of 3.5% (1.8% in May).

Compared to the previous month, the turnover index in retail trade increased by 3.2% in June, compared with the 1.7% fall in the previous month.

the indices of employment, wages and salaries and the number of hours set calendar effects presented in the month of reference, annual growth rates of 2.7%, 5.1% and 2.3%, respectively (2.6%, 5.2% and 1.6% in the previous month in the same order).

in the second quarter 2016, sales in retail trade rose 3% year on year (2.6% in the first quarter of 2016).
