Losses Montepio more than doubled in the first half – Jornal de Negócios – Portugal

The Caixa Económica Montepio Geral ended the first half of the year with a loss of 67.62 million euros, a value that is more than double the same period last year, when losses were 28.9 million euros.

according to the statement sent by the bank to the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM), without “specific impact”, the net result would have been positive at EUR 22.5 million.

As a “specific impact”, the bank considers the costs of the rationalization of the structure (32 million) contributions to the single national fund resolution (26.4 million) tax effect (20.5 million) and financial investments (52.2 million euros)

This last value. – 52.5 million – results from the impact of extraordinary impairment because of exposure to debt Hi (EUR 57 million) and the participation in Vallis Fund (EUR 7 million), net of the positive impact of the sale of in Visa Europe (EUR 11.5 million).
