Shippers complain about the investment in the terminals of the load – Jornal de Negócios – Portugal

The Association of freight Forwarders of Portugal (APAT) accuses hannah of “careful, a lack of vision” and argues that “load terminals (a fundamental piece of any airport) does not meet the necessary conditions to boost the competitiveness of Portuguese exports”.

in A press release about the announcement of the new airport in the Lisbon area, the Government points to 2019, the APAT considers that the project “should already have been started there is a lot.”

The association criticizes the manager of the national airports to abstain from any investment in the department of load, pointing to “inertia before the urgent need of taking initiatives that bypass the reality of the security procedures have become an entropy in the movement of goods by air, the airports of Porto and Lisbon”.

according To the APAT, in Porto’s airport, since mid-November and similar to what already happened in the airport of Lisbon, “the scenario is to load crammed (for lack of space), and spread by the terminal, outside the security perimeter”.

The packaging and good condition, he adds, “have not been properly guaranteed by the entities of the airport that, in addition, exempt (or are exempt) of any responsibility regarding any damages caused by these same screening procedures”.

In the opinion of the association, which represents the shippers, “where there is no other companies with a readiness to invest, the solution will need to pass to be the ANA to provide means of screening in the terminals of the load”.

“Is currently unaffordable, we remain unmoved in the face of this continuous lack of interest in the 'load'”, he says in the statement, adding that, “in the export business, it is natural that the option of the buyers are secure in the entities that are able to gather the logistics conditions”. Otherwise, he adds, will continue to be a “deviation from the 'main core' of these business to Spain and to the countries of northern Europe”.
