The administration of the New Bank, led by Vítor Bento, will be output according to the news this Saturday Express .
According to the weekly, the Bank of Portugal will have to look for a new team to lead the bank resulting from emergency intervention in BES, in early August.
If confirmed, the output of the current administration will have to do with deep disagreements on the strategy for the New Bank. There have been pressures for the bank to be sold quickly. The Government itself has waved this direction. In an interview with Economic Daily, this Friday, the Economy Minister Pires de Lima, said that “the sooner the New Bank find your home, its shareholder, the clearer the mission management.”
Vítor Bento argues, however, a longer-term strategy to be conducted by the present administration, adding value to the bank and only then sell it.
For the coordinator of the Workers in the New Bank, João Matos, a hasty sale will be the order of the institution. “The bank needs stability and can not give up. We are more united than ever to save the institution. Hasty sale will be the end of the bench and none of us want that,” said John Matos Lusa.

The Bank of Portugal intervened in the BES August 3, to prevent their uncontrolled collapse , dividing it into two institutions. The New Bank stood with workers, agencies, accounts and other assets, while the old BES were troubled assets.
