The new wage cuts go into effect tomorrow, but not all workers will have pay cut in September. In these situations, the arrangements will be made in October.
The Finance Ministry today clarified that not all employees of the Public Service summer wages cut in September, since there are services that have sued salaries. In these cases, adjustments will be made in October.
“The new rules will now be implemented by the various departments responsible for processing the salaries of Public Service. Due to the enormous complexity procedural some staff will be hit on the new changes already reflected in the month of September while others, whose processes have been completed, see their situation corrected in October, “said the Daily Economic official source at the Ministry of Finance.
The new cuts include workers with higher gross wages to 1,500 euro gross per month and vary between 3.5% and 10%.
According to the law published today in the Official Gazette, the remuneration reductions come into effect tomorrow.
