Historic open Summit of the Americas with the presence of … – LUSA

The Seventh Summit of the Americas began, this Friday in Panama with the US President, Barack Obama, and his Cuban counterpart Raul Castro in attendance at the event’s opening ceremony.

The summit, which lasts two days, took off at 19:40 local (01:40 Saturday in Lisbon), with the participation of about 30 heads of state.

Obama and Castro, separated by the presidents of Ecuador and El Salvador were the second of three rows in the center of the capital of Panama conventions, while sounded the national anthem of the host country considered historic event.
