Last month, 14,120 vehicles were produced, 1.5% less than in the same month last year, says the ACAP, the data released today.
The car production rose 7.1% in the first eleven months of the year for a total of 154,805 vehicles, show the data released today by ACAP-Association of Automobile Retail Portugal. Still, in November alone, and from the same month of 2013, fell by 1.5% to 14,120 vehicles.
In a statement released today, the ACAP states that “the decrease in the total number vehicles manufactured in Portugal in November 2014 was determined by the decrease in production of passenger vehicles (-6.4%) and heavy vehicles (-17.6%). ” Now “the production of light commercial vehicles grew 21.1%,” adds the association.
The ACAP explains, moreover, that the 154,805 vehicles produced in the aggregate of the first eleven months of the year, 96 , 5% had export destination. The volume of vehicles exported, 149,449, is, in itself, an increase in exports of 5.8% over the same period last year.
The European Union remains the main destination of exports, 74.4% of absorbing them. In this cake, Germany ‘absorbs’ 21.4% of the vehicles produced in Portugal, followed by France with 12.8% and the UK, with 10.5%. For Asia were 18.2% of exports, mostly to China, which recalls the ACAP, “remains, after Germany, the main destination of our exports.”
