Profits of Goldman Sachs grew 58% in the third quarter – Diário de Notícias – Lisbon

The north american bank Goldman Sachs announced today that its profits in the third quarter were up 58% compared to the same period of 2015 and they were at 2.1 billion dollars (1,91 billion euros).

The earnings per share in the third quarter was 4,88 dollars (when it had been $ 2.90 in the third quarter of 2015), and the volume of business amounted to 8,17 billion dollars, a rise of 19%.

analysts had expected that Goldman Sachs had in the third quarter a profit of 3,82 $ per share, having the result exceeded expectations.

in Spite of the good results in the third quarter, in the first nine months of the year, profits were 1% below those recorded a year ago.

Between January and September, the profits of the group reached that 4.93 billion dollars, when in the same period of 2015 had reached 4,99 billion.
