The production of motor vehicles registered in Portugal, last November, a decrease of 1.5% over the same month last year, having been produced 14,120 vehicles, according to data released Monday by the Association Driving Portugal (ACAP).

In the period from January to November 2014, the production of motor vehicles in Portuguese territory grew 7.1% over the same period of the year past, if encrypting a total of 154,805 vehicles.
The decline in the total number of vehicles manufactured in Portugal in November was determined by decreasing the production of passenger vehicles (-6.4%) and heavy vehicles (-17.6%), while production light commercial vehicles grew 21.1%.
Of the total 154,805 vehicles produced in the first 11 months of this year, 149,449 was earmarked for export, which represented 96.5% of total production and resulted in an increase of 5.8% compared to the number of vehicles exported in the same period last year.
As regards the target regions of the Lusitanian exports in the first 11 months of the year, the European Union absorbed 74.4% of national production, especially Germany, which imported 21.4% of the vehicles produced in Portugal followed by France (12.8%) and the UK (10.5%). Asia absorbed 18.2% of Portuguese exports, while China imported 16.4% of production, so it remains, after Germany, the main destination of exports lusas of motor vehicles.
