electricity suppliers the will have to indicate on the invoice which the date on which the reading of the count should be reported.

the regulator of the energy sector approved a draft directive that obliges electricity suppliers to indicate invoice their customers what date (or dates) in which the meter reading can be communicated to be reflected in the next invoice and there is a similar proposal for the natural gas industry.

“With this obligation placed to suppliers, the consumers see increased resources to reduce the use of consumption estimates and can more easily control their energy consumption and associated costs, “it said in a statement the agency led by Vítor Santos.

As part of the World consumer rights Day celebration, ERSE launches an electronic brochure for consumers to take advantage of liberalization in the energy market, advising them to keep in mind the three key stages of the change process (3 C’s) which involves knowing who is in the market by comparing the offers available and hire enlightened and informed manner.

the regulator further recommends consumers who know the contract features before signing and understand if there any associated loyalty, which, if any, should be an advantage for the clearly identified consumer.

Although loyalty is not prohibited, “should be explained to the consumer and demonstrated that the associated advantage,” advocates regulator.
