Families with lower incomes will pay less audiovisual contribution – Express

Families with lower incomes will pay less for their contribution to the audiovisual (CAV) in 2016, going to pay one euro a month, and the remaining families will pay another 20 cents to 2.85 euros per month.

the deputies approved on Tuesday, the third day of voting in the State Budget specialty 2016 (OE2016), two amendments tabled by BE on the CAV, which is paid by taxpayers with the invoice electricity and financing the public radio and television.

These proposals were approved with the votes of PS and BE and with the abstention of the PSD and the CDS-PP. But the PCP voted against the proposal which determined the increase of CAV for 2.85 euros per month and abstained from voting on the proposal specifies that the beneficiaries of the reduction in aid for the audiovisual for one euro.

the proposed amendment to bE provides that in 2016 the monthly contribution to the audiovisual is a euro for families who are beneficiaries of the solidarity supplement for the elderly, social integration income, the unemployment assistance, and by that receive the first category of family allowance or who receive social pension disability.

the relief of 1.65 euros for these families, now approved in the art, is accompanied by an increase of 0.20 euros for the remaining households, which will pay 2.85 euros per month in respect of this contribution.

in February, the leader of the BE, Catarina Martins, announced that Block would move forward with a proposal for amendment the contribution to the audiovisual sector.

at the time, Catarina Martins explained that this guarantees “a savings 1,65 euros per month” to a million families, with the remaining 4.5 million families an “increase such light so that, in fact, will not be felt on the invoice “, continuing CAV below 2.90 euros.
