Eurozone: Unemployment drops to minimum since August 2011 – TSF Online

The unemployment rate in the eurozone was 10.3% in February, with Germany (4.3%) and Czech Republic (4.5%) with the best records, and Greece (24%) and Spain (20.4%) with the worst.

the unemployment rate in the euro area it was 10.3% in February, the lowest since August 2011, and compared with 11.2% in the same period and 10.4% in January, according to Eurostat.

according to the official statistics office of the European Union (EU) in all the 28 Member States, the unemployment rate was, in February, at 8.9%, stable compared to the previous month and below the 9.7 % in February 2015.

the lowest unemployment rates were recorded in Germany (4.3%) and the Czech Republic (4.5%), while Greece (24% in December 2015) and Spain (20.4%) had the highest.

in Portugal, the unemployment rate in February, from 12.3%, down from 13.5% homologous but above 12, 1% in January.

in annual terms, unemployment decreased in 24 Member States, remained stable in Belgium and increased in Austria, Latvia and Finland.

The youth unemployment rate settled at 21.6% in the eurozone and 19.4% in the EU, compared to 22.7% and 20.9% from February 2015.

Germany (6.9%), Czech Republic (10.2%) and Denmark (10.5%) recorded the lowest values, while the highest were observed in Greece (48.8% in December 2015), Spain (45.3%), Croatia (40.3% in the fourth quarter of 2015) and Italy (39.1%).

in Portugal, youth unemployment was in February of 30, 0%, up from 29.9% from January but a lower rate than in the same period, when recorded 33.1%.
