The contracts signed between the State and companies of Carlos Santos Silva, during the government of José Sócrates, profited from EUR 7.4 million entrepreneur, indicates the Observer. School and park roads are among the business.
Carlos Silva Santos, a friend of José Sócrates childhood suspected ‘front man’ in tax fraud scheme and bleaching capital which led to Operation Marquis, earned millions with contracts with the public sector in Socrates’ Government of time, reports the Observer.
According to Portal Base platform data, four empesas Silva Santos celebrated contracts with the public sector in the amount of EUR 3.4 million between April 2009 and June 2011 (the last two years of socialist governance). The remaining 4 million has already been achieved in the social democratic leadership period.
On the same platform, which only offers contracts published from August 2008, can be seen that among customers Santos Silva are -If multiple cameras (socialists, mostly), group companies Águas de Portugal, the Roads of Portugal and Parque Escolar, two companies that were political banner in Socrates’ governance.
