The New School of Business and Economics (SBE) returned to collect the 19th position among the best Masters in Finance “ranking” the British Financial Times.
The institution is the only Portuguese presence in the list for the fifth consecutive year. The same is led by the French HEC Paris (Hautes Etudes Commerciales de Paris), so renews the title.
In the case of Nova SBE is the international dimension that weighs more in income. College is the first positioned in this component. “No one wins in this market [of higher education] without the logic of internationalization”, highlights the new director of Nova SBE, Daniel Moth.
The Master has about 120 students per year, with students International accounting for half the demand. “In Portugal we are concerned about the brain drain. We should be with the attraction”, concludes the director.
The New SBE wants to assert itself as a dynamic hub of educational tourism, with the opening of its new “campus” in Carcavelos to enhance this dimension. The prospect of it remains in 2017.
The Masters in Finance already has 45 nationalities, especially students from Germany, France and Italy. Send national talent out is another of the goals. “I am aware that many [students] will not come back. But others will come back much more fortified,” confesses Daniel Moth.
Also the business world is aware of students coming out of this course, come to the “campus” recruiting. This is the case of HSBC, JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs on an international scale. Nationally, Banco de Portugal, Santander and BNP Paribas are present.
The Masters in Finance from New SBE offers a full employment after six months after the departure of the course students. Daniel Moth explains that to achieve such results it is necessary to guide students to their professional goals. “Never tell them to accept the first thing [appearing]“, simplify.
