The number of young people out of work also retreated, but the data of the National Statistics Institute, released yesterday, also reveal that there are fewer people in the range from 15 to 24 years to work.

After all, unlike the pointing to estimates released a month ago, the unemployment rate in November was 12.2% and not 12.4%. And if the estimates for December are confirmed, the country will have kept unemployment in 2015 a downward trend. On the side of the young, the movement was similar (despite the disruption observed in October), with the unemployment rate back down from 32.2% in November to 31% a month later. Translated into figures, this means that at the end of the year were out of work 111 700 young people. 7200 are less than the previous month, but despite the decline, the reality reveals that one in three people who are between 15 and 24 years still unemployed.

This job retention frame overall did not include younger. On the contrary, in this segment, the universe of people employed fell from 251,200 in November to 248,900 in the last month of 2015. Crossing this data with the total number of people employed, this means that the newest occupy only 5 5% of the work.

Among women there was also a decrease in the total number of those with a job. “These data are adjusted to seasonality. Removing this end, data from the National Statistics Institute show that the employed population registered a decrease from November to December, although this is one of the months in which many firms reinforce effective because of the Christmas season.
