The Argentine government announced today that it has repaid a debt of three thousand million dollars to multilateral bodies such as the World Bank or the Inter-American Development Bank.

To make payment of 3,043 million dollars (2.3 billion euros), Buenos Aires used reserves debts , explained the government. This transaction arises when Argentina crashes in the United States a legal battle against hedge funds, which led to the blocking of 539 million dollars of refunds from Buenos Aires to private lenders restructured.

Argentina can not honor this refund 539 million due to July 30, following the decision of an American judge Thomas Griesa obliging Buenos Aires to pay, first, 1300 million dollars to “NML” and “Aurelius” two specialized funds the purchase of debt risk.

On Wednesday, the negotiations for the purchase by a group of banks (JPMorgan, Chase, Citigroup, HSBC, Deutsche Bank), this debt 1300 million in Argentina to those two funds failed.

On Thursday, Argentina’s president, Cristina Kirchner, a war against these funds for years, have announced a North American initiated legal proceedings against the company “Donnelley” property fund NML within the Argentine “anti-terrorist law.”

The Argentine authorities suspect that the “Donnelley”, a printer who last week fired 400 employees, of “fraudulent bankruptcy” , accusing it of “wanting to sow panic” and “change the economic order and create unrest in the population”, at a time when Argentina’s economy is in trouble.
