Over the past five years, the sale of tobacco in Spain has been experiencing a fairly significant drop. According to `El País’ in 2007 were sold and 90,290 million cigarettes last year were sold only 47,508 million, which translates into a reduction of 47 percent.
According to Spanish publication, these data can justified due to the crisis affecting the country as well as the hardening of anti-smoking law, with successive tax hikes.
