The German airline Lufthansa earned net profits of € 425 million in the first quarter of the year, reversing the trend of loss in the first three months of 2014, valued at EUR 252 million.
“All segments operating business were able to increase its results in the first quarter. Above all, SWISS and Lufthansa Cargo performed better than last year, “said Simone Menne, responsible for the finance department.
The carrier indicated that between January and March, the operating loss lowered one-third (33.6%) to 144 million euros, with the increased revenue, year on year, 7.9% to 6,973 million euros.
The six-day strike by pilots Company Air accounted for losses of 42 million euros, however Lufthansa expects the strike will be reflected in the results of the first quarter of around 58 million euros due to the decline in flight bookings.
