José Manuel Ribeiro also argued that users of the A41 the section that was in the works must be reimbursed for the fees charged by the concessionaire since, unlike the provisions of the law, “there was minimal traffic conditions.”

The delay in the resolution of the situation triggered the response of the users as well as pronouncements of authorities and political parties.

The April 4 the Users Group of A41 / Core Privet, municipality Valongo even called a “buzinão” to the vicinity of the works in order to claim the suspension of the payment of tolls and the resolution of the “hole” on the road.

The same group again expressed to May 6 during the visit of Prime Minister Antonio Costa to Ermesinde to inaugurate the Citizen’s Shop of the county, and asked the end of a toll that from his point of view “creates an inequality in region”.

Already the chambers of Valongo and Maia moved along the several weeks following the floor subsidence, is preparing “a lawsuit to demand compensation”, while the Paços de Ferreira warned that the interruption of traffic on A41 is causing “considerable damage” to exporting companies that county.

According to Ascendi the land subsidence that occurred in February on the A41 had a direct cause “high and abnormal rainfall that occurred in the region.”
