The Mota-Engil group announced today the award of a contract with a total value of 1,030 million dollars (about 954 million euros) in Tanzania, in a partnership with the group Turkish Yapi Merkezi.
In a statement sent to comissão do mercado de Valores Mobiliários (CMVM), Mota-Engil said that the contract was signed today for the “construction of a stretch of railway line that will connect the country’s capital, Dar Es Salam, the neighboring countries of Rwanda and Burundi”.
The first section of 202 kilometers, “will run for a period of 30 months, expected to start in march,” added the Portuguese company.
“With this increase significant portfolio of orders in the region of Africa, Mota-Engil reiterates the goal of resuming the pace of growth of their business in that region and in the group”, he concluded.
