Vila do Bispo is the municipality more transparent to the Algarve, having stayed in the 13th in a ranking of all the municipalities in the country, on 2016, made by the non-governmental organization (NGO) Transparency and Integri ty Civic Association (TIAC).
For this classification, were evaluated on criteria such as public procurement, plans and reports or the transparency of the economic and financial indications of the Transparency Index Municipal (ITM), which, in Vila do Bispo, was 92,86%.
how Many other municipalities in the algarve, Alcoutim is the second most well-positioned, being in the 24th position, with a total of 308 municipalities, followed by Portimão, at 38. Then comes Aljezur (40th), Loulé (78), São Brás de Alportel (80) and Tavira (81). Olhão arises in the place 126, Vila Real de Santo António in 130, the Pond in position 139 and Silves in 170.

The analysis is done through the information available to citizens on the websites of the municipalities. As to the good result, the city of Vila do Bispo, that is, until, the local authority is more transparent below the Tagus River, says that this fact “reflects the goals of the executive led by Adelino Soares and is based on the effort to implement a municipal management rigorous and transparent.”
For example, in indicators, transparency, economic-financial, relationship with society and transparency in the area of urbanism, Vila do Bispo got 100% in the classification.
