Nikkei index closes above 18,000 points for the first time in seven years

The main Tokyo stock index, the Nikkei, closed today’s session above 18,000 points for the first time in more than seven years after official data indicate that Japan emerged from recession in the last quarter of 2014.
The Nikkei closed gaining 91.41 points, or 0, 51% being rated on 18004.77 points while the second indicator Topix, rose 10.95 points (0.69%) up to 1459.43 points.
The Nikkei index reflects the unweighted average of 225 superstar values of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, while the Topix groups the values of the 1,600 largest listed companies.
