UGT wants to increase the minimum wage

Leader of the CGTP, Armenian Carlos, launches appeal to workers.

The leader of the UGT revealed yesterday in Porto, during his intervention in Labor Day celebrations, which will propose, in September, a further increase of the national minimum wage (NMW) to enter into force next year.

Carlos Silva noted that the increase in SMN, which entered this year was “only 20 euros”, 485 to 505 euros. It did not help, however, the value will propose to increase the SMN. Note that in late December last year, the leader of the PS, António Costa, argued in an interview with CM , an increase in SMN to 522 euros. However, the macroeconomic scenario prepared by an economist group at the request of the PS is not referred to any increase in SMN, nor know ideas of the Government in this regard.

Almirante Reis, leader of CGTP, Armenian Carlos urged the Portuguese to use the upcoming legislative as “a high point in the struggle to put an end to the right of politics and government PSD / CDS”. “This is a challenge for all of us because we do not want an alternation, want alternatives,” he added. The leader of the PCP, Jerónimo de Sousa, participated in the parade, which was “one of the largest parades in Europe and certainly the World”, ensuring that the goal of the merger is “defeat the right.”
