The general secretary of the Communist Party reaffirmed late on Thursday in Ovibeja, the situation that is living TAP “is mainly a result of the objective of the Government of wanting to privatize the company” thus putting into question the national economy, tourism and the Portuguese-speaking world.

The sharpening of the conflict between the administration of TAP and the pilots union is seen by communist leader as “natural” given that the workers “are concerned about their future and react against privatization”

Before the insistence of journalists, said that regardless of the form chosen by the pilots to trigger the strike “and even the critical judgment that may be made taking into account some issues that are claimed” in particular where privatization could be a portion for the drivers, the Communist leader emphasizes that “because fund” is the privatization of the company.

“Finish with this goal and the conflict is resolved,” sentences Jerónimo de Sousa, criticizing the company’s management to be finance companies low cost “then say there is no condition to finance the TAP”.

The general secretary of the Communist refutes accusations that focus on losses that may eventually be caused by 10 days of strike, but last summer, recalls, “for the wrong management acts were canceled hundreds and hundreds of flights. Have you ever heard the government threatening that sent the administration? Or hooted, says Jerónimo de Sousa criticizing the government for “threaten and blackmail” when speaking of privatization and redundancies of workers.

On the other hand, consider that “there should be no investment in TAP is a way to kill the company.” The greater truth, accentuates the communist leader is that the Government wants to deliver the TAP to foreign economic and financial groups when there have been two previous threats, “the delivery of TAP to Swissair, which went bankrupt past months and the adventure with Roman Abramovich.”

In short, the problems of TAP “has nothing to do with economic issues but with an option of the Government to burst all that is national heritage” concludes Jerónimo de Sousa
