How many pests have been rogadas and articles of opinion written about the “touristification” Lisbon? What about the increase in rents, which make increasingly expensive city for young people who want to fix? Fernando Medina presented on Wednesday promised Income Program Access (PRA), whose audience said to be the “true middle classes”, in particular young people. This initiative of the town hall of Lisbon will allow the provision in various areas of the city, five to seven thousand properties with incomes between 250 and 450 euros, writes the newspaper “Public” on Thursday.
Fernando Medina had already announced this idea, the time of his inauguration as mayor. It lasts exactly one year, fulfilled. According to “Public”, the basic idea is that the municipality affects land and buildings it owns to this program and fund “general urbanization works” and “collective facilities of proximity” as kindergartens and schools. Another task will be to define “quality standards for the construction, maintenance and conservation” of buildings.
“This program addresses the true middle class,” summed up the mayor, adding that young people are ” the first recipient “of this initiative. The ultimate goal, he added, is “to give them opportunities for them to live in Lisbon,” says the “public”.
The PRA average incomes will be 250 euros for a T0 350 450 for T1 and for T2. These values, stressed Fernando Medina, are “significantly below those available on the market” and is concerned differences in “30 to 40%.”
The PRA housing will be assigned by lot and can compete people whose net annual incomes vary between 7,500 and 40,000 euros gross.
