The mayors of Vila Nova da Barquinha and Constância, in the district of Santarém, said to the Lusa have information that their agencies are going to terminate the period of lunch time already from this month of January, in that they consider a measure “unacceptable” and that “contrary to the objectives outlined in the Program of the XXI Constitutional Government to combat desertification and to the affirmation of the sustainability of the territories of low density”.
Also PS and BE questioned today the Government, through the Ministry of Finance on the General Box of Deposits “will make changes to the operating hours of its agencies” in the district of Santarém, “which, when” and “criteria” underlying the measure.

Though questioned on the subject, the GBD did not say if they are going to shut down most of the branches of the lunch hour in 2017, when, which and how many.
