António Domingues has imposed conditions to accept the invitation of the minister of Finance to extend your stay in the General Box of Deposits until the arrival of Paulo Macedo and his team. The banker wanted the guardianship to find a legal solution that fit the extension of its mantado, but was considered not to have legal conditions to be on the bench of the State beyond 31 December, knows the Business.
the Business established, Mário Centeno invited the ex-president of the Box the stay in the institution until replaced on December 29, two days before the date on which, legally, ceased their duties since the resignation from the position was formalised in November. Domingues showed willingness to stay in the CGD since the Ministry of Finance to come up with a solution that is legally acceptable for this extension of functions.
on The 30th of December, the invitation of the guardianship was formalized by written. However, after assessing the terms of this document, Domingues understood that the conditions which it had imposed were not met and that, therefore, had no legal conditions to prolong its stay in the Box, found the Business.
the position of The ex-president of CGD has been reported to the minister of Finance on the evening of 30 December, and represented a volte-face in relation to the information provided by the official source of Finance that, in the afternoon of that Friday, he went forth to the Business that Domingues and the rest of the team had agreed to postpone their exit from the bank.
The Business knows that only Domingues was invited to extend its mandate until 31 January, or one month beyond the date legally provided for its out of the Box.
Remember that the 1st of January came into force the legislative amendment that clarifies that the administrators of the GBD, they are required to deliver their statements of income in the Constitutional Court, despite the bank having ceased to be subject to the Statute of the Public Manager in all of the remaining rules laid down in this law.
Domingues has always been against the obligation of presentation of the income statement, a position that, incidentally, led him to resign the administration of the Box, after five weeks of public dispute in terms of this theme. The banker did not have conditions to stay after the President of the Republic have argued publicly that the managers of CGD were obligated to deliver the statements in the TC.
Even before hitting the door, Domingues surrendered voluntarily to the income statement in the Constitutional Court, subject to and with the express request that the document be kept confidential. Until this Monday, 2 January, the judges of the Palace Ratton still did not comment. Who is managing the CGD?
