The Greek prime minister, Alexis Tsipras, said today that his government will be forced to call early elections if they do not recover the parliamentary majority it lost in the last two votes on the reforms demanded by creditors.

“If we do not have parliamentary majority, we will be forced to elections,” Tsipras said in an interview with radio Sto Kokkino identified with Syriza in power. The projects at issue ended up being approved with the votes of members of the Independent Greeks (Ring, coalition partner) and representatives of three opposition parties (New Democracy, Pasok and To Potami).
