Banks expect slight increase in the demand for loans – Digital Journal

The Bank of Portugal today released the document which reflects the results of the survey in December to the main banks on the supply and demand for credit, the Survey on Bank Lending Market.

” The survey results point to a slight increase in global demand for loans during the fourth quarter, especially notorious for long-term loans by companies, “reads the document.

For the first quarter 2015, banks anticipate “a slight increase in loan demand by enterprises, which should be linked to small and medium enterprises and for all types of maturity.”

You referred individuals, banks expect “slight increases in demand, both for house purchase and for consumption and other purposes.”

As for the credit granting criteria and conditions applied, the survey results conducted the five largest banking groups consider that there were “slight decreases in the restrictiveness level of institutions”
