Economic activity continues to slow – Express

In November, the growth of economic activity in Portugal slowed for the third consecutive month, reveals the INE.

In your situation synthesis, the National Institute of Statistical highlights the decline “tenuously” the economic climate indicator in December and the retreat “more significantly” indicator that measures the economic activity in November to 2.5%, against 2.8% in October.

Private consumption also showed signs of slowing down, with a “less significant annual growth” to reflect the slowdown in current consumption, erm line to data released by the Bank of Portugal, at the end last week, pointing to an economic downturn in late 2014.

Exports showed an annual decrease of 0.4% in November and the desempregro rate increased to 13, 9% (13.6% in October).

As for short-term indicators (ICP) have negative signs regarding the evolution of activity in industry, construction, public works and service sectors.

In 2013, the Consumer Price Index showed an average annual change of -0.3% (0.3% in 2013) due to the negative contribution of unprocessed food and energy, referred to INE.
