Data Commission denounces excessive access companies … – Express

The National Commission Data Protection (DPA) denounces, in its investigation of the controversial “VIP list” of the Tax and Customs Authority (TA), the existence of an excessive number of contributory access to data citizens by private companies, including Accenture, Novabase and Opensoft.

The ICPD notes that there are a total universe “more than two thousand people”, external to the Tax Authority who have access to information of AT, between subcontractors to develop and maintain computer systems, in addition to trainees and occasional of financial services.

“It appears to be a large number of private companies permitted to access the contributory data, some of which have frankly excessive numbers of users, including most importantly Accenture about 120 users, Novabase with about 90 users and Opensoft with more than 60 users, “reads the resolution published on Tuesday by the DPA.

This, notes the DPA, “makes it virtually impossible for an effective control by the AT activity carried out by these users.”

At the Tax Authority, also focuses on the report of the ICPD, there are a large number of employees who can search the data of taxpayers without restrictions. “In fact, over 75% of AT staff have privileges to access contributory situation of every citizen irrespective of their geographical location or duties performed,” says the DPA.

The conclusions of the research lead to the DPA emphasized that “it is therefore manifest lack of preventive action by the AT, which safeguards the privacy of each and every citizen when is concerned particularly sensitive information. ”
