The regulator of the energy sector gave four convictions in two years, totaling penalties in the amount of 22,500 euros, the heaviest being applied to Galp Power for undue interruption in the supply of natural gas.
In a statement, the Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE) said that, since the entry into force of the energy sector sanctions regime in January 2013, examined 69 cases of illicit against potential -ordenacionais, opened 26 misdemeanor proceedings, filed 12 unlawful notes and issued four convictions and archiving.
Among the convictions, there is the penalty of 15,000 euros applied to Galp Power, group company Galp natural gas trader in the free market, by undue interruption in the supply of natural gas to a customer.
The same company was also fined 5,000 euros by not discriminate against general economic interest costs (CIEG) invoice.
The third penalty in the amount of 2,500 euros was applied to EDP Commercial for not providing the complaints book to a consumer.
ERSE also condemned the Goldenergy by unlawful competitive practices, which deserved a warning to the company that operates in the liberalized market of electricity and natural gas.
All convictions left the complaint of individual consumers.
The regulator of the energy market participated offenses within the jurisdiction of other bodies, including the Public Prosecutor, the Consumer Directorate-General, the Insurance Institute of Portugal and the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology.
