Media Capital triples profit in the first quarter – Express

The group Media Capital, owner of TVI, closed the first quarter with a profit of EUR 2.3 million. A value that represents an increase of 218% over the same period of 2014, when the company reported a net profit of 715 thousand euros.

On the basis of this growth was above the 6% reduction in operating expenses of Media Capital, which fell more than two million euros, to 32.4 million between January and March this year.

Have the revenues generated by the group fell 5% to 37.9 million euros. Despite the slight increase of 1% in advertising revenues, which stood at 23.7 million euros of, other operating income of the season fell 13%, to 14.2 million.

This decline is explained by the loss of 12% in “other income” generated by TVI channel universe, in particular due to the self-regulatory agreement between the broadcasters to limit the contests involving telephone calls.

At the operational level, EBITDA of Media Capital rose 5% to EUR 5.5 million, with a margin of 14.5%.
