According to the data released yesterday (13) by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in February this year, the number of unemployed people in the 34 member countries of the entity amounts to 42.9 million, the unemployment rate registered a decrease of 0.1% over the previous month and scored 7%, a decrease of 1.1% compared to January 2013.
According to statistics, in February, the unemployment rate in the euro zone marked 11.3%, a decrease of 0.1% compared to the previous month. For the United States, the unemployment rate in February marked 5.5%, a decrease of 0.2%, and reached the lowest level since May 2008. In the same month, Japan’s unemployment rate scored 3, 5%, a decrease of 0.1%. However, Canada’s unemployment rate rose by 0.2% and reached 6.8%.
The OECD also noted that in some countries of the euro area, the unemployment rate of young people aged from 15 to 24 years is extremely high.
