the SINCRO is a system for automatic detection of speeding offense, consisting of a network of speed control locations carefully selected, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI).
This system, which will be fully operational in January 2017, will feature 30 mobile radars installed in 50 locations considered “extremely critical”.
in a recent interview with Lusa, the Secretary of State for Internal Affairs, Jorge Gomes said the 30 speed control radars will not be fixed by turning in a rotating system, in 50 booths, with their random installation.
according to the MAI, the communication of information of radar is performed by applying Transit Event Management System (SIGET), which will interface with the traffic offenses System (SCOT), to issue notifications to drivers.
the installation national radar network has a cost of 3.19 million euros, according to the budget approved in February by the Council of Ministers.
the ceremony marking the entry into operation of the first radar will count with the presence of Secretary of State for Internal Affairs.
