Port of Leixões. Cargo reduces 3% in the 1st half – Express

The Port of Leixões closed the first half of 2016 with a cargo movement of 8.8 million tons a year on year fall of 3%. In segments of the ro-ro and containerized cargo, the port registered a growth.

In the half-year results, the administration of the Port of Leixões highlights the positive developments in breakbulk handling (+ 8%), ro- ro (+ 30%) and containers (12%).

With exports to 184 countries and a monthly average of 1.4 million tonnes of goods to circulate, the port had in January the best month of the year, registering a growth of 13%.

the reduction of exports to markets such as Angola and China penalized the semi-annual performance of Leixões.
