All the regions of the country have now risk ‘Very High’ ultraviolet radiation exposure (UV), said the Sea Portuguese Institute and the Atmosphere (IPMA).

According to the Institute, the regions Funchal, Porto Santo, Bragança, Castelo Branco, Guarda, Penhas Douradas, Vila Real, Funchal, Aveiro, Beja, Braga, Coimbra, Évora, Faro, Leiria, Lisbon, Portalegre, Oporto, Santarém, Setúbal, Sines, Viana do Castelo , Viseu, Porto Santo, Horta, Angra do Heroism, Ponta Delgada and Santa Cruz das Flores are now at levels ‘Very High’.

in the regions at risk with levels ‘Very High’ and ‘High’ the Institute recommends the use of sunglasses with UV filter, hat, ‘t-shirts, umbrella and sunscreen, and discourage children’s exposure to the sun.

the UV index range from less than 2, wherein the UV is ‘down’, 3 to 5 ( ‘Moderate’), 6 to 7 ( ‘High’), 8 to 10 ( ‘Very High’) is greater than 11 ( ‘far’) .

As for the weather, the IPMA provides for today on the continent sky little cloudy or clear, with periods of increased cloudiness on the coast between the Mondego Cabo and Cabo Raso until midmorning.
