the final version of the draft amendment to the Rehabilitation of Urban Area of Braga Sul (ARU Braga Sul) and delimitation of Rehabilitation Braga North Urban Areas (ARU Braga North) and Braga Dawning (ARU Braga Rising) is analyzed by the municipal executive, at the next meeting, to be held Monday.
In the proposal goes to vote, the council maintains that considers it appropriate to make these changes “because of the distinct understanding, given the past, which should be a concerted municipal strategy to encourage and stimulate urban regeneration, seeking in the process cover the entire consolidated urban area of the city and the first expansion ring surrounding the historic center which begins to show signs of degradation of the landscape and urban environment “- explains the authority said in a statement

With this change, the camera considers passing to have available a tool to encourage private investment and promote the emergence and affirmation of new centers with potential to attract and processing beyond the boundaries of the historic center of Braga, giving greater coherence to the territories covered by specific policies on urban regeneration and tools for fleshing.
“This is a document that is sustained on the principle of action that has guided the local initiatives in several areas: the coordination of the actors and institutions, public and private initiatives and their investment in a joint project,” said the au
tarquia, noting that to achieve this objective will soon be sworn in the Strategic Council for Urban Regeneration, giving these same agents and institutions active voice and a central role in the construction of Braga.
Cooperation with private actors is seen by the municipal executive as one of the key factors for the success of urban regeneration of the city. In this context, the camera takes, increasingly, the role “catalyst and advisor to be an active partner and facilitator of private initiatives in terms of urban regeneration.”
Thus, the application of targeted investments through the Strategic Plan for Urban Development (PEDU) and the investments planned at the level of institutions and private constitute a strong lever for urban regeneration.
Urban regeneration is assumed by the municipality as one of the strategic foundations of its action, have been given firm steps in this direction through the planning instruments – expressed in the Review of the Municipal Master Plan and the Strategic Plan for Urban Development (PEDU) recently approved – at the conciliation of the stated investments and the aforementioned relationship between the municipality with the agents and institutions.
