The millionaire “opportunistic” behind the Lone Star, the fund that wants to buy the New Bank – Express

With a fortune valued at 6 billion euros, John Grayken, founder of Lone Star Funds, the entity best placed to buy the New Bank, is the fourth richest person in Ireland. But Grayken, who is also the second manager of private funds to the richest of the world, was born very far from Dublin, in Cohasset, a southern suburb of Boston, in the United States.

In 1999, in a move to pay less taxes, the millionaire renounced american citizenship and embraced the irish after getting married with a british. Because of this, despite the fact that the Lone Star have its headquarters in Dallas, in the USA, lives in London, because you can’t spend more than 120 days on american soil without having to render accounts to the tax authorities.
