On the eve of the Eurogroup meeting, the European Commission tried to lower expectations for any progress towards a solution for Greece and rejects food speculation the work taking place with Athens. Brussels says the goal remains the firm maintenance of Greece among euro countries

The only plane on which Brussels is working is to ensure that Greece remains in the euro area and the spokesman of the Commission, Mina Andreeva says that the EU executive not is waiting for an agreement with Athens in the coming days.

“This is the first exchange with the new Greek government and the Eurogroup. It is the first circle of partners of Opportunity euro area to speak with the newly elected government. The European Summit is an informal meeting and, on this basis, our expectations are low, the possibility of a final agreement be reached, “he said.
