LISBON – The European Commission today signed a new partnership agreement, involving key stakeholders in air traffic management. Airlines, airport operators and air navigation service providers (ANSPs) will receive up to 3 billion euros in EU funding, in order to implement joint projects and modernize the management system of Europe’s air traffic. Today’s agreement aims to improve the performance of air traffic management systems in Europe, in order to manage more flights safer and less expensive way and at the same time reducing the environmental impact of each flight.
These projects will result in economic benefits for the EU, contributing over EUR 400 billion to GDP, to create over 300,000 new jobs and a saving of 50 million tonnes . CO2 emissions
