The Portuguese Confederation of Tourism (CTP) today asked the pilots of TAP to weigh the decision to strike, which may be decided today at the general meeting, and avoid forms of struggle that cast doubt on the national economy.
In a statement released today, the president of CTP, Francisco Calheiros, said that “surely there is room for the continuation of a dialogue aimed at reaching a consensus solutions, provided that common sense prevails.”
Pilots TAP meet today to discuss the agreement signed in December with the Government, being on the table the possibility of a new strike, one month of submission of tenders for the purchase of the group.
CTP calls pilots of TAP to use “its most common sense and consideration in their decisions at general meetings” and points out that any measure “should advocate instability” in TAP, has “immediate serious negative consequences” in tourism and national economy.
“The simple statement of the SPAC [Union of Civil Aviation Pilots] regarding the convening of such meetings, anticipating that these could lead to the convening of a strike, is already having a negative impact in the sector, which should mitigate immediately, “the president of CTP.
