Surcharge does not apply to the second tier in 2017 – the Observer

The surcharge will disappear sooner to the taxpayers of the second tier, which come from your salary free of this tax from January, something that in the Budget proposal only happened at the end of march, found the Observer. The calendar remains in the remaining steps.

The Government and the parties have already reached agreement and the proposed will advance the same. The taxpayers of the second tier already will not be affected by this tax.

The surcharge should have completely disappeared at the end of this year, but the Government decided to re-apply during 2017, doing away ranking the ranking each quarter. Taxpayers with more income will be subject to the payment of the surcharge for a longer time.

In the proposed law, delivered in the Assembly of the Republic is anticipated that the surcharge will disappear for those who have incomes up to the second tier at the end of march, who is in the second tier pays surcharge until the end of June, and who is in the fourth tier pays up to September. Now, through a proposal of change, the second tier disappears now, when in the original proposal it was envisaged that in the first three months was to be subject to a surcharge of 0.25%.
To ensure that the last step does not pay the surcharge for all months of the year 2017, the Government anticipates in a month, the rate of reduction of the surcharge of each quarter for two months in the case of the last step, no longer suffer the application of this increased tax in November of 2017.
