“We will be open to many improvements in this Budget,” says Caldeira Cabral – the guardian

The theme had already been released by the leader of the parliamentary PCP, Joao Oliveira, at the beginning of the debate, but it was resumed by the Bruno Days at the end of the session.

“The reduction of the minimum limit [of the Special Payment on Account (PEC)] for the 850 euros should be considered as the beginning of the end of the PEC,” said the communist mp, who, after hearing the words of Manuel Caldeira Cabral, called the attention of the Executive to the need for a “reduction of the energy bill for the population and economic activity”.

Before, in the initial intervention, Manuel Caldeira Cabral, had already argued that the proposal of the Executive is pursuing a path of “fiscal consolidation and relief of the tax burden”, emphasizing that “resets the normality” after the “instability experienced during the adjustment period”.

Ensuring that this is a State Budget that “helps those who invest”, the minister of Economy did not hide, however, that the “high level of indebtedness of enterprises” is also “a hindrance to the growth of the Portuguese economy.

“The Portuguese economy with this grow and has given positive signs of investor confidence”, added Manuel Caldeira Cabral, who said: “We are seeing positive signs throughout the year. We hope that will increase in 2017″.
