Electricity consumption fell 0.7 percent in 2014 compared to the previous year, which represents a decrease of 6.5 percent from the peak in 2010.
According to data from the National Energy Network (REN) last year, renewable production supplied 62 percent of consumption – 31 percent water, 24 percent wind, biomass and photovoltaic 5.5 percent 1.2 percent – up from 57 percent in 2013 .
In the non-renewable production, coal plants fueled 23 percent of consumption, the central natural gas 13 percent, as the remaining 2 percent were supplied with the import feature.
