EDP. Asset sale to China Three Gorges in Brazil is completed
The deal was awaiting regulatory approval.
EDP Renováveis sold a minority shareholding of wind farms to CWEI in Brazil. The company is a subsidiary of China Three Gorges. The deal was announced late last year and has been completed now, according to a statement sent by the electricity to the capital market regulator. EDP waiting for the ‘ok’ from regulators to close the transaction.
“Considering some price adjustments in order to achieve a 49% stake, the CWEI Brazil will invest a total of 385.7 million reais, including capital contributions already made and an estimated 86.8 million actual future capital contributions for projects currently under construction / development, “reads the statement released on Tuesday, May 19.
The strategic partnership provides for the China Three Gorges make a total investment of 2 billion euros in renewable energy projects. This investment CWEI Brazil is already the case within the partnership.
