Oceanarium can be rescued by the state after 10 years – Economic

The granting of the Lisbon Oceanarium to a private operator can be rescued by the Portuguese State after 10 years.

According to the concession bases of the Oceanarium, published today in the Official Gazette, “the licensor may redeem the award qu8ando public interest justifies, after the lapse of 10 years from the date of the grant.”

The award has been established for 30 years, through a financial contribution not previously established.

Every five years, the future concessionaire must present a strategic plan for the development of the activities of the Lisbon Oceanarium.

The concession bases of the Lisbon Oceanarium also state that “the prices of entrance tickets and visit (…) in all its aspects, are freely fixed by the concessionaire, without prejudice to public service obligations and the implementation of social responsibility policy defined in the concession agreement. “
